Libertarian Lexicon #1 – Minarxism & the Minarxist

Minarxism (noun) — A political and philosophical doctrine advocating for the most minimal possible structure of governance (a so-called “small” monopoly of violence) compatible with the oxymoronic idea of preserving individual liberty and voluntary order within a State. Rooted in the false perception of pragmatic statehood, Minarxism holds that authority should exist only as a “minimal and defensive mechanism” — an unassumed statism.

Minarxist (noun) — An adherent of Minarxism; one who regards the state as a necessary but diminishing institution, seeking to protect life, property, and voluntary exchange while actively working toward the preservation of violence. The Minarxist stands between the anarchist’s ideal and the libertarian’s realism — an unassumed statist.
